Govt celebrates latest police graduates as milestone reached

A graduation ceremony today marks
1800 newly qualified police officers since the Government
came into power. A milestone for the coalition, adding that the number
of frontline staff was a key component of the agreement
between Labour and New Zealand First. But the target’s recently
come under political fire. After failing to recruit
and retain graduates, the Government amended its promise instead saying it’ll train
rather than add 1800 officers during its first term.
